How Does 3D Printing Work?

3D printing works by building up an object layer by layer from a digital model. The digital model is created using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Once the digital model is complete, it is sliced into thin layers. The 3D printer then builds the object by depositing material, such as plastic, metal, or ceramic, in each layer.
