This book tells the story of these three extraordinary women. It explores their personal and professional lives, their music, and their impact on the music industry and popular culture. The book is based on extensive research, including interviews with King, Mitchell, and Simon themselves, as well as their friends, family, and colleagues.

The book is divided into three parts. The first part tells the story of King's early life and career. King was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1942. She began writing songs as a child, and by the time she was a teenager, she was already performing her own songs in Greenwich Village clubs.

In 1960, King married Gerry Goffin, a fellow songwriter. Together, they wrote some of the most iconic pop songs of the 1960s, including "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," "One Fine Day," and "The Locomotion."

In 1971, King released her solo album, Tapestry. The album was a huge commercial success, selling over 10 million copies worldwide. Tapestry won four Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

The second part of the book tells the story of Mitchell's early life and career. Mitchell was born in Alberta, Canada, in 1943. She began playing guitar as a child, and by the time she was a teenager, she was already writing her own songs.

In 1965, Mitchell moved to New York City, where she began performing her songs in folk clubs. In 1968, she released her debut album, Song to a Seagull. The album was a critical success, and Mitchell was soon hailed as one of the most talented singer-songwriters of her generation.

In 1971, Mitchell released her album Blue. The album was a commercial and critical success, and it is now considered one of the greatest albums of all time. Blue won two Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

The third part of the book tells the story of Simon's early life and career. Simon was born in New York City in 1945. She began playing guitar as a child, and by the time she was a teenager, she was already writing her own songs.

In 1964, Simon released her debut album, Carly Simon. The album was a commercial success, and Simon was soon hailed as one of the most promising singer-songwriters of her generation.

In 1972, Simon released her album No Secrets. The album was a huge commercial success, selling over 5 million copies worldwide. No Secrets won two Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year.

Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and Carly Simon are three of the most influential and successful singer-songwriters of all time. Their music has inspired generations of musicians and fans. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in the history of popular music or the lives of these three extraordinary women.
