In this book, I will take you on a journey to the heart of Papua New Guinea, a journey that will lead you to the remote villages of the highlands, where tribal traditions are still alive and well, and to the pristine waters of the Sepik River, where you can witness the incredible spectacle of the crocodile dance.

Along the way, we will encounter the friendly and welcoming people of Papua New Guinea, who will share their stories and traditions with us, and we will marvel at the natural wonders of this unspoiled land.

The Highlands

The highlands of Papua New Guinea are a land of towering mountains, lush valleys, and cascading waterfalls. It is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including the iconic bird-of-paradise, and the elusive tree kangaroo.

The highlands are also home to some of the most fascinating people on the planet, the tribal people of Papua New Guinea. These people have lived in the highlands for centuries, and they have developed a unique and complex culture that is still alive and well today.

In this section, we will journey to the remote villages of the highlands, where we will meet the tribal people and learn about their way of life. We will also trek through the lush rainforests and climb to the summit of Mount Wilhelm, the highest mountain in Papua New Guinea.

The Sepik River

The Sepik River is one of the longest rivers in Papua New Guinea, and it is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including the iconic crocodile. The Sepik River is also home to the crocodile dance, a traditional ceremony performed by the people of the Sepik River.

In this section, we will journey along the Sepik River, where we will witness the incredible spectacle of the crocodile dance. We will also visit the villages of the Sepik River people and learn about their way of life.

The Coast

The coast of Papua New Guinea is a land of pristine coral reefs, white-sand beaches, and turquoise waters. It is home to a diverse array of marine life, including the iconic dugong and the giant manta ray.
