In the summer of 2019, I embarked on a journey to some of the world's most iconic golf courses. I had always been fascinated by the game of golf, and I was eager to experience the different ways it is played around the world. My journey took me from the hallowed grounds of Turnberry in Scotland to the remote and windswept links of Tasmania. Along the way, I met fascinating people and learned about the history and culture of the game.
My first stop was Turnberry, a course that has hosted some of the most memorable moments in golf history. I was fortunate enough to play the Ailsa Course, which is considered one of the most challenging and beautiful courses in the world. The course is set on a rugged coastline, and the views of the Firth of Clyde are breathtaking. I was also able to visit the Turnberry Hotel, which is steeped in history. The hotel has been visited by royalty and celebrities over the years, and it is a popular destination for golfers from all over the world.
From Turnberry, I traveled to Ireland, where I played some of the country's most famous courses, including Royal County Down, Royal Portrush, and Ballybunion. Royal County Down is consistently ranked among the top courses in the world, and it is a true test of golf. The course is located on a rolling piece of land, and the greens are some of the most challenging in the world. Barnbougle Dunes is a links course that is set on a beautiful stretch of sand dunes. The course is known for its challenging fairways and its stunning views of the Bass Strait. The Australian is a parkland course that is located in Sydney. The course is known for its lush fairways and its challenging greens.
From Australia, I traveled to New Zealand, where I played some of the country's most beautiful courses, including Cape Kidnappers, Kauri Cliffs, and Millbrook Resort. Cape Kidnappers is a links course that is set on a stunning stretch of coastline. The course is known for its challenging fairways and its stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Millbrook Resort is a parkland course that is located in the Southern Alps. The course is known for its lush fairways and its challenging greens.
My final stop was Tasmania, where I played some of the country's most remote and windswept courses, including Barnbougle Lost Farm, Ocean Dunes, and King Island Golf Club. Barnbougle Lost Farm is a links course that is set on a beautiful stretch of sand dunes. The course is known for its challenging fairways and its stunning views of the Bass Strait.
